The first
Whisenant�s (Visinand�s) to the States were Philip Peter Visinand with his Wife
Allena (Anna Helena), two of his sons John Peter and John Adam on October 14,
1731. They were imported in the Ship Snow Lowther, Joseph Fisher,Master, from
Rotterdam, but last from Dover, as by clearance from the Port. The Master being
examined, said he had no particular License for their Transportation. They were
then called in & having declared that their Intentions were to settle and
live Peaceably in this Province. "Taken from The Ship Passenger Lists of
Pennsylvania and Delaware (1641-1825)."
The Visinand�s were Winemakers
from Maracon,Lausanne,Swiss canton of Vaud, French speaking region of
Switzerland, between Lausanne and Montreux.
