Joseph is employed as a helper with the Express Co. His two younger brothers also work in the company. 1924 June - Joseph and Helen married in June 1924, when Joseph was 23 and my grandmother, Helen, was 21.

1925 Apr 7 - Joseph, a detective in the police dept., was shot and seriously wounded by an unnamed negro whom he was attempting to arrest in Harlem for possession of policy slips. The negro, who was a group rounded up in a pool room suspected of being a headquarters of policy dealers escaped. He was shot in the neck area and lost the use of his arm due to nerve damage. The article appeared in the Trenton Evening Times.

Article (required by law) appeared in the Long Island Daily Star Newspaper in June 1937 letting all know the family was changing their surname from Anselmini to Anselmin. (See copy of article on file).

Joseph petitioned, with his family, to legally change their surname from "Anselmini" to "Anselmin" in April, 1937.

A special session of term was convened and presided over by William P. Wiener, Justice in the City Court of New York City, County of Queens, in the courthouse Chatham Phurix Building, Long Island, New York.

The petition was verified and honored, and a copy of the order was placed in the Long Island Daily Star and filed with the court within the specified forty days.

He died Nov. 10, 1965, 14 days before the wedding. He was living in Key West, Florida. He must have been driven or flown to a hospital in Monroe, Florida, where he died. His body was brought to Queens, NY for his funeral in Jackson Heights and his burial in the National Cemetery on Long Island in Farmingdale. He was buried on Nov 16, 1965 - Section 2D - Site 1608
