Anselmini Families of NYC - Frank Anselmini Family Life
***** Frank & Rosa Anselmini *****

Francesco "Frank" Anselmini, son of Ludwig Anselmini and Rose (Unknown) was born in 1 Nov 1863 in Cremona, Lombardia, Northern Italy, died 6 January 1933 in NY Post Graduate Hospital, Manhattan, NY, and was buried 9 January 1933 in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, Queens, NY.

General Notes:

Frank sailed from the seaport of Genova, Ligurgia, Northern Italy on the ship "Werra" and appears as passenger #438, ticket #228 on the ships' manifest. He traveled in steerage class with one suitcase and indicated his destination is NYC.

He arrived in the port of New York City, at Ellis Island on April 23, 1894. He was 31 yrs of age and married.

On the ship's manifest, Frank's name is shown as "Francco" Anselmini. On the Federal Census Records It was Americanized to "Frank" and is what he was called in America.

Rose, age 30 arrived with three children, Ludwig age 6, Reinwald age 5, and Catherine about 1 in 1895.

1897 May 23, Rose gave birth to Luigi (Louis) J. Anselmini. I believe there is the possibility that Louis was a twin. There was another child Realdo Anselmini born on the same day in NYC, certificate # 22435.

1900 May 31, Rose gave birth to Giuseppi (Joseph) F. Anselmini. (9 days prior to the Census being taken).

The family is living at 320 East 61st. Street in Manhattan.

Frank is a cement worker. He and Rose have been married for twelve years.

Ludwig and Reinwald are attending school.

Rose indicates in the census that she has given birth to 6 children. Only 5 children are listed at home in the census. It is not known, for sure, if this child was born and died in Italy prior to the family immigrating to America or if this child was born after 1895 and prior to 1900. I personally believe that this child is the child that was listed in the births of NYC in 1897 on May 23rd (the same date as Louis) and that Louis may have had a twin who died after birth. The child's name was given as Realdo Anselmini, Certificate #22435.

1902 Nov 22, Rose gave birth to Tommasso (Thomas) Anselmini

Two additional sons have been born since the census in 1900. Thomas, born in 1902 and William in 1905.
