LEN DAVIS (s/o LYCURGUS CUG JEFFERSON, s/o DAVID FORT, s/o ISAAC) was born October 26, 1897 on Bob Thompson Ranch 7 mi N. of Utopia, Bandera Co., TX, and died November 08, 1977 in Uvalde, Uvalde Co,. TX. Burial: Concan Cemetery.

He married SARAH RUTH STITTS October 09, 1920, daughter of MARTIN STITTS and Unknown ____ . She was born 1903, and died 1992. Burial: Concan Cemetery.

(I have copy of Len's birth certificate. If any one wants a copy.) Len was a great trapper of wild animals and loved the outdoor life. He hunted all over South and West Texas. He was buried in a panther hide vest. Several years before his death, he killed a panther, skinned it and had the hide treated. SRC

(Marjorie given name was "Margie" but she preferred Majorie. Marjorie and I went to a Davis reunion at Blanco, Texas and had a great time. She and I spent many hours 'rattlin them ole bones in the closet'. Marjorie was very proud of her family. While Marjorie had heart surgery in Houston, RT died at home. She was so sad that she had not been with him. There was never a kinder person than Marjorie. I went to see Marjorie in the NH and she told me not to worry about her. "I'm not going to die til I can do it dramaticly with all my family at my bedside". We laughed together about that. I wish she was here to help me write her stories. She told me so many stories, I can never tell them like she did. SRC)

Child of Stitts is: + 2 i. Martin Aubrey2 Stitts, born Abt. 1857. "Martin Aubrey Stitts was born in Poland and parents brought him to Indianola abt 1854-60. Another story is that the family immigrated in 1839 and Martin A. was born 1856 in Texas. Marjorie said she was told the long trip on the ship was horrible. It was over crowded. There was not much food and the water was bad. A Stitts infant took sick and died. They wraped the infant in an old silk dress and slipped the small body over the side into the ocean." Marjorie said.
