Buddy's Christmas Trip | |
December is here and Christmas is near. |
|
Here is
Buddy, hurrying to get ready. "Buddy, it's time to go!" |
Soon, Buddy
is all packed and ready and waiting patiently. |
He has said
goodbye to Minnie, who is staying at home |
He has said
goodbye to Molly, who is staying at home, too. |
Here we go! We're on our way! | Sometimes
Buddy rides in the front seat in the sun. |
Sometimes he snoozes in his carrier. | Sometimes he
comes out to look around. |
Before he knew it, the day was gone and he was still not where they were going. Everyone was sleepy and would be glad to stop for the night. | Here is Buddy
in the motel room. It was his first motel room, and it was full of interesting things. |
The heating unit had a comforting purrrrrr. | Hmmmmmm. We
have one like this at home. |
Checking under the bed. Nope, no cats there. | After all the
excitement of the day, Buddy is tired and ready for bed. He has brought his
own bed from home, and he has his own kitty heating heating pad to keep him
warm. |
He is so sleepy, he can hardly keep his eyes open. | Soon he is
asleep. |
He dreams
about Minnie at home, basking in the sun in the flowerbed |
He dreams
about Molly at home, snoozing in her favorite chair. |
He dreams
about Ricky Martin, the neighbor's kitty, who often visits for a snack ... |
... and the
squirrel who comes everyday to eat birdseed. |
Buddy even
dreams about himself, back at home, napping on the porch. |
Then
suddenly, it is morning, and it is time to be on the road again. Buddy's bed
and dish have been packed ... |
... and now Buddy is packed, too, and ready to go. | Then ...
finally!!! we are at Nana's and Granddaddy's. |
There is a good meal waiting, with water brought from home. | Buddy's
litter pan is put in the bathroom. Oops, someone is already in there. |
Once again, Buddy's bed is unpacked and he arranges it to his own liking. | A rest and a
nap after the long trip is welcome.
|
This is Granddaddy ... | ... and this
is Nana. |
There are no
cats at their place to play with, so Buddy just relaxes a lot ... |
... sits outside in his Christmas jacket ... |
... and looks at all the Christmas decorations. |
|
But then ...
"This visiting is all fine and good," Buddy reminds
us, "but it's almost Christmas, And, horror on horror, he thought, suppose he didn't
make it home in time for Christmas! |
|
So here is
Buddy, heading home. This was a stop for gas. Doesn't he look impatient to get going again? |
He takes naps
on the way home because it makes the time go faster. Soon, he will
see Minnie and Molly again. |
