Merry Christmas from the Logans in the Last Frontier, Fairbanks, Alaska!
*SMILE*

Can you believe that another year has come and gone? 2012 AND 2013 flew by!
Where does the time go? It should slow down a bit and let me catch my breath!!
I am working on my Christmas letter that should be online to read hopefully by
Christmas! If you would also like a printed copy, please email dlogan@alaska.net
or snail mail me a note. Let me know and I will send you your own personal copy
after Christmas. I am running out of time and Christmas is just around the corner!

The short news, we have a precious granddaughter named Eve who was born in
July 2012. She is the sweetest most loving baby and SO MUCH FUN! She reminds
me of all the joyful times I had with Grace when she was a child! On Eve’s 1st
birthday last July we were happily surprised with the news that grandbaby #2 is on
the way! We now know he is a BOY and he is due to arrive in early February 2014!
Yahoo!! We are so happy to have these precious new babies added to our family!
Grace and Eve have been visiting with us since Thanksgiving and it is such a joy to
get to spend this time with them! Chirag will be back on Christmas Eve. He is
home right now in Wasilla due to work constraints. Since January he‘s been
working a new job for the State of Alaska, Department of Natural Resources!

Don and I are both doing well! We just had our 18th anniversary! How time flies!
In other news, I turned 60 in September! I am still wondering how THAT ever
happened! Hahaha I feel great for my “advanced” age and look forward to MANY
more birthdays to come! I have never been busier! Besides my part-time job at the
credit union (16 years now!) I volunteer at our local University of Alaska Museum
of the North, at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge and also at the Alaska
Songbird Institute’s Bird Banding Station. I have taken a few Biology classes at the
University of Alaska in the last couple years, just for fun, and it HAS BEEN FUN!

Okay, I need to get going on my mailing! Hahaha Read more soon at:

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Barbara and Don

You are welcome to have a copy of either of my "one-page" 2014 Calendars. They will fit on 8.5 X 11 inch pages.
The first has a photo of migrating Tundra Swans (and a couple of ducks!) in Delta Junction, Alaska in May 2013.
The second has a photo of three of the kinds of waterfowl that stopover at Creamer's Field in Fairbanks on their
migration north to breed. They are all intent on feeding and get along seemingly well! The field fills with many
migrating birds each spring and again in the fall. Click the links below which should open a new tab or window.

after it loads, you "Right Click" on it and choose "Save Picture/Image As" or "Print Picture."
(You may have to use the print feature from your File/Menu in Firefox)
You can also "Right Click" on the link itself and choose to either "Save Link/Target As." In some browsers
you can also "Print Target." Be sure to set your "Print Settings," "Paper Orientation," to "Portrait."
Happy New Year! (SMILE)

"Comfort Ye" Messiah, Georg Friedrich Händel, Halle 1685-London 1759

The Gospel according to Isaiah Chapter 40, New Testament, Holy Bible

1. "Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God."

2. "Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her,
that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned:
for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins."

3. "The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness,
Prepare ye the way of the Lord,
make straight in the desert a highway for our God."
