Betty I. (Thompson) Monholland, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at Harmon House, in Mt. Pleasant. She was born Sept. 4, 1926, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late Henry M. and Bessie (Johnson) Thompson. She previously worked for the former Associated Cleaning at UPS, New Stanton. She was a member of the Fairview Church of God, Kecksburg, and the Trauger V.F.D. Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Monholland; two daughters, Patricia and Janet Monholland; a son, William H. Monholland; two brothers, Clifford and Ray E. Thompson; and two sisters; an infant and Thelma Miller. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Reynolds and husband, Carl, of Mammoth, and Judith Snyder and husband, James, of United; two sons, Larry J. Monholland and wife, Diane, and Keith N. Monholland and wife, Joyce, all of Mt. Pleasant; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Andrus, of Acme RD1, and Margaret Thompson, of Ft. Hood, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. D. Keith Soloman officiating. Private interment in Fairview Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.

Rockholds

Kenneth ?Leon? Monhollen, 71, of Rockholds, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
He was the son of the late Rev. John Henderson Monhollen and Nora Johnson Monhollen.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Croley Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be at Johnson Cemetery at 85 Johnson Hollow Road at Rockholds.
The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Doris Jean Monhollen, 72, of New Albany, formerly of Corbin, Ky., were held Sunday, June 27 at Hart Funeral Home Chapel, Corbin, Ky., with burial in Corinth Cemetery. She died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. She was a member of Graceland Baptist Church, and was retired from the Baptist Bookstore in Louisville. Survivors include her daughter, Shelia (Kenneth) Phillips, Corbin, Ky.; her lifelong friend, Wanda Frizzell, New Albany; a grandson, Michael Davis, LaGrange, Ga.; two brothers, Harold (Mabel) Monhollen, New Albany, and James H. (Shirley) Monhollen, Louisville

William J. Monhollen, 73, of Hesperia, formerly of Holland, died Thursday, July 15, 2004.

Born in Corbin, Ky., he had been employed as a machinist at H.E. Morse Inc. of Holland for 30 years until retiring in 1984. Following retirement he owned and operated Bill's Trailer Rentals of Holland. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Coopersville and attended St. Michael's of Brunswick. He was a former local president of I.A.M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1993; by a son, William Jr. in 1994; and by a grandson.

Surviving are his daughters, Shirley and Michael Raczynski of Holland, Mary Lou and Thomas Hilldore of Holland, and Teresa and David Silva of Hesperia; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joy Saylors of Kentucky and Jean Hastings of Hamilton; brothers, Jim and Donna Jones, and Frank and Barb Barton of Hesperia; several nieces and nephews.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Coopersville with the Revs. John Vallier and Michael Alber officiating. Interment in St. Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery, Coopersville.

Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at St. Michael's Catholic Church of Coopersville with a vigil service at 8:30 p.m.

Shirley A. Munholand, 72, of Crosslake, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at her home. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at Mission of the Cross Lutheran Church in Crosslake with the Rev. Steven Anderson officiating. Friends may visit Friday, March 5, 5-7 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake. Interment will be at Norwood Cemetery.

Nannie E. (Elizabeth) Monhollen Gregory, 91, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Corbin, passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004.
She was the loving mother of Stearl A. Gregory, Alice F. Messmer and the late Rebecca Pike; the sister of Lee, Clarence, Willi, and Roosevelt Monhollen and Viola Stokey. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren as well as other family members and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Louie Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Monhollen Family Cemetery on Fifth Street Road, Corbin.
The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
The Hart Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements

J.C. Monholland TAHLEQUAH

J.C. Monholland passed from this life Thursday, April 13, 2006 in Tahlequah at the age of 67 years. He was born June 7, 1938 in Qualls to George Harvey and Jennie Elnora (Raincrow) Monholland. He was a truck driver, enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

J.C. is survived by his wife, Ella Monholland; two daughters, Alice (Marty) Smith and Audra Starr Adair; two sons, Jackie Monholland and John Harvey Girdner; a stepmother, Mattie Turner; a stepdaughter, Lucinda Broaddrick; a stepson, John Broaddrick; a sister, Lula Mae Perry; three stepsisters, Wanda, Deloris and Iva; an uncle, Bill Johnson; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Jennie Monholland; and two sisters, Ida Lou Biggs and Billie Pack.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2006 at Pettit Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tim Robbins, Christina Robbins, John Broaddrick, Doug Girdner, John Girdner and Jimmy Sequichie. Honorary pallbearers include Melvin Pack and George Orchid. Funeral arrangements directed by Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
