This project has been started in
Sept. 2007. We are a new and young project.
The company we have chosen to do
the DNA testing is Family Tree.
Our Project Goals are to find other family
members that are related to our Monhollen
and Monholland families, to
share information and bind as many Monhollen (and all known
variations)
families together as possible. An exact match in the yDNA 25
marker test indicates a strong
probability of a common ancestor within the
past 7 generations. There will probably be other
forms of
the surname as this project takes off. We have found many
ourselves, such as Mouhollen,
Holland, Hollen, and many others. If you think
there is a chance you are related
to these families you may need to test.
The DNA testing is now one of the most
reliable sources for finding ancestors, by finding family
members related by a common ancestor.
We are excited to start getting results in,
so if you think you might be related read below.
If you are a male Monhollen/Monholland descendant
consider taking the DNA test. These tests are now
helping people
all over the world find their brick walls
and their family. No blood
work is involved, it simply requires
a cheek swab. All male
descendants who carry the
last name of Monhollen or some variation of that
name
are welcome to take the DNA test and join our site.
We only have a few
requirements:
1. You have to be male
and carry the surname naturally born
of Monhollen or a variation of
that surname.
Female descendants may participate, and are encouraged to
participate, by having a male Monhollen relative participate in the
Project.
Only males have the Y-chromosome and it is passed from father to
son, generation after generation.
2. You have to submit
a pedigree including dates whenever possible to
the webmaster of this
site.
