Jan. 20SatPatrick Scanlan arrived here at 8 p.m. Tim brought him.
Jan. 25ThurVal Detting has agreed to advance on mortgage on Scanlan farm $3000.00 Scanlan left got Vandalia from Sheboygan.
Feb. 18SunAttended funeral mass of Miss Mary Mangan. Buried at Osceola. Met Mike Walsh of Milwaukee at Osceola church.
March 4SunAttended mass at Osceola. Father Horan said he was leaving Osceola.
March 18SunGave Miss Coleman order for $140.00 Father O'Neal's first mass at Osceola. Mag Fixmer called to be married.
March 20TueJohnny Devine at Connells in the evening talking new factory and cheese.
March 27TueJohn Foley, John Mullen and Mag Fixmer were married.
March 28WedBill Jepson was buried. Mrs. Shufflebottom at Glen (Glenbeulah) shot herself and child.
April 10TuePat Egan killed up at Quinnesec by the caving in of mine.
April 21SatGeorge ? Glidden died.
April 25WedPat McHugh buried in Mitchell.
May 1TueWent to church in a.m. and helped Nickel set up monument. Thomas Crosby was married to Miss Kennedy.
May 5SatDance at Crosby's for Tommy and his wife.
May 21ThurBorn a boy to George Lindsay family. Died a few minutes after birth.
May 23SatHeard Tom Riley married. Old Alcox at Cascade died.
June 17SunJohn Gannon and Bid Hughes called to be married.
June 20WedAmanda Reiley died at 3 a.m.
June 24SunTerry Fee and Bridget Carlin were called to be married.
July 1SunAt home till 6 p.m. Went to Slattery's to settle school business and make out report.
July 2MonAt tornado at New Cassel, Kewauskum and vicinity.
July 15SunBrookmire of Dundee was buried.
Aug. 8WedGrandmother Scanlan died.
Aug. 10FriMona went to Sherman via Plymouth and got there to attend grandmothers funeral, who was buried today.
Aug. 15WedThe grand Festival and Picnic at Mitchell. The whole family attended. Everything moved fine till the Osceola rascals commenced a disturbance which disturbed the whole meeting. Sold a lot of stuff and took in a good deal of money. Miles Gallagher's team ran away and running home from picnic, tipped over the buggy and broke his arm and demoralized the whole family.
Sept. 9SunHard frost killed all the corn in the county. Ann McNicholas and Dan Sullivan called to be married.
Sept. 12WedDan Sullivan and Anne McNicholas were married.
Oct. 9TueMrs. Luke Gahagan died this morning.
Oct. 11ThurMrs. Luke Gahagan was buried.
Oct. 23TueHired young Keys to teach the school at $42.50 for 4 months. Dance at Robert Skelton's tonight.
Nov. 5MonPaid Mike Slattery $5.00 on account.
Nov. 12MonEverything froze solid this morning. School begun by W. Keys.
Nov. 11SatTom Crosby was killed in a mine up in Negaunee, Michigan.
Nov. 12MonTom Crosby's body brought home from Negaunee tonight.
Nov. 13TueTom Crosby buried.
Nov. 16MonEd Connell got home from the Murray factory.
Dec. 19WedOld Mrs. Mangan died at 7 o'clock this morning.
Dec. 21FriOld Mrs. Mangan buried and with Mary Cannon attended funeral.
