Jan. 15MonYoung Schockmel died.
Jan. 17WedClear, warm. Stopped at Skelton school, from there to Scanlan's school. Saw new R.R. engine. All hands laying track.
Jan. 18ThurLeft Scanlan's at 9 a.m. for home via McFarlin's, Cascade, Aikin's, Mulloy...Got home at 6 p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Skelton here over night.
Jan. 28SunRev. Quinn's first mass at Osceola.
Feb. 6TueHeard of Charlie O'Malley's death and burial.
Feb. 18SunLittle Dan Murphy died.
March 7ThurA girl born to the Mike Riley's. (Sarah Jane, baptized March 17. Became a Mercy Sister in Omaha, Nebraska, Sister Felicitas. - F.S.)
March 9SatAttended Barrett's auction.
March 17SunPeople not satisfied with priest (Rev. E. J. Goss.)
April 13SatBill Manley let out of jail about the Kiel scrape.
April 14SunSold pews. Got No. 8 south at $6.00.
April 18ThurClear, bright, warm. Fishing all day at lake, got about 80 lbs.
April 24WedFirst geese of season passed today.
April 25ThurPleasant. Ground drying up fast. Team plowing corn, potato ground all day. Fixing up fences in the a.m. Making drag frames in p.m. At 6 p.m. heard of the burning of the schoolhouse No. 1. J. Manley's child buried.
May 5SunMass at Mitchell, went with team. Capuchin Fathers there to commence mission too continue all this week.
June 24MonJim Heraty had barn raising. Helped all day.
Aug. 11SunLib Scott's child died.
Aug. 18SunLouisa Flanigan called to be married. (Not married in Mitchell, probably Osceola. - F.S.)
Sept. 1SunMrs. Tom Murray died this morning.
Sept. 8SunStarted from home for R.R. at 2 p.m. Arrived on the R.R. about 7 p.m. Boarding with Van Eps tonight.
Oct. 20SunWent to old Mrs. McGrath's funeral. At home in p.m.
