Family Bible Records are found here that I have transcribed from an auction site. I have no further information on this than what was submitted in the auction ad. Bibles are becoming collectors items and once they are sold the records may be lost to the genealogical community forever. BARTOO Family Bible: The Bible stated: Francis BARTEAU who in 1657 came from Paris, France settled in Flushing, NY. In the early part of the first quarter of the 1700's the spelling of the name changed to BARTO. It was later changed in the third quarter of the 1700's to BARTOO.

BARKDOLL 1831; Mary Ann BARKDOLL 1834; Susan BARKDOLL 1836; Nancy BARKDOLL 1837; John BARKDOLL 1839; Samuel BARKDOLL 1841; Easter BARKDOLL 1843; Daniel BARKDOLL 1845; Elizabeth BARKDOLL 1847. Deaths: John BARKDOLL 1877 aged 73 y 6 m 25 ds; Susan BARKDOLL 1875 aged 71 y 3 m 28 ds.
There were two BARKDOLL Bibles on the auction site at one time. The 2nd one contained the following: Marriage of John MARTIN and Elizabeth BARKDOLL Dec. 19, 1867 by Rev. J.W. Santer. Births: John MARTIN Oct. 30, 1843, the son of John and Mary MARTIN; Elizabeth BARKDOLL Aug 9, 1847, the daughter of John and Susan BARKDOLL; John Barkdoll MARTIN July 21, 1880. Deaths: John MARTIN Aug 4, 1910 aged 66 y 9 m 5 ds; Elizabeth MARTIN Dec 26, 1908 aged 56 y 4 m 17 ds; John Barkdoll MARTIN July 26, 1880 aged 4 days.

The ERNEST Bible contained many records, but the following information was all that was posted in the auction ad: George ERNEST born June 28, 1809 and baptized by Rev. Wm. Hines; Susana ERNEST born May 13, 1812 and baptized by Rev. W. Myers; Samuel J. ERNEST and Elizabeth V. SHECKELS were joined in Holy Matrimony by Father F. Boyle December 7, 1858. The following information was included in a scan in the ad and I could not read all of it: William H. ERNEST and Louisa L. PHILLIPS were joined in Holy Matrimony January 3, 1860 by Rev. Samuel Higgins. Births: Henry ERNEST born September 15, 1841; Jacob ERNEST born October 8, 1847; George E. ERNEST born July 25, 1849; Mary E. ERNEST born October 7, 1845; Emaretta ERNEST born September 1843; Child born 1839; Child born 1837; William ERNEST born January 1831; Samuel ERNEST born August 13, 1833; John ERNEST born 1835.

Abel NETTLES Bible: Abel NETTLES born 1842; Henrietta KIMES born 1847. Abel NETTLES and Henrietta KIMES were married by Rev. Hornberger on January 12, 1871. They had 7 children; 3 of whom never made it past the age of 8. Second oldest child was Kate NETTLES. The NETTLES were from Limerick, Montgomery Co., Pa. at the time of their marriage.
Jonathan NORTON born 1812 and wife Betsey born 1816 had 7 children: Eben, 2 William's, James, Lizzie, Julia and John. All children born between 1838 and 1857. Other names included in the marriage section: HILL, ELLIOT, LIBBY, ROUNDS, ELDEN, and SHACKFORD. Florence Pearl NORTON died June 6, 1882; Bernice E. NORTON SCHACKFORD died Oct 10, 1916; Josephine P. NORTON, wife of John NORTON died Dec 8, 1927. Children of John and Josephine NORTON: Florence Pearl born Oct 31, 1881; Bernice Evangeline NORTON born Oct 11, 1885.
John NYCE Bible: Stated that the family was from Lederachville, Pa. Noted that deceased are in Salford Mennonite Burial Grounds.

1806 Bible: William THURBER, son of Edward THURBER was born Sep 2, 1785 and was married July 4, 1802 to Eliza CAGESHIL. They had 11 children. Lydia THURBER married Oct 20, 1829 to Mr. Ebenesar R. COOK.
