Mildred Schaeffer Formerly of Kittanning

Mildred (Procious) Schaeffer, 98, formerly of Hawthorne Avenue, Kittanning, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002 in St. Andrew's Village, Indiana.

She was born Aug. 19, 1903 in Oak Ridge to Edward G. and Dora (Hankey) Procious.

Mrs. Schaeffer was a homemaker.

She was a Presbyterian.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and going to camp.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Eleanor) Nagy of Rural Valley; four grandchildren, Michael A. Nagy, Linda L. Brown, Connie Divins and J. William Kane; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. Barton Schaeffer in 1974; one son, Jack Schaeffer; one daughter, Barbara Kane; one granddaughter, Sue Ann Nagy; two brothers, John and Edward Procious; and two sisters, Avanel Butler and Marian Byers.

SCHAEFFER - Friends of Mildred (Procious) Schaeffer, 98, formerly of Hawthorne Avenue, Kittanning, who died July 9, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Kennedy & Blodgett Funeral Home, Inc., 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. John W. Snyder, pastor of St. Lukes United Church of Christ, Kittanning, officiating. Burial will be in Kittanning Cemetery. Arrangements by Kennedy & Blodgett.

Julia Melissa Procious

Greensburg

Julia Melissa (Zellefrow) Procious, 90, of Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, formerly of White Oak, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 at her residence.

She was born Aug. 22, 1911 in Rayburn Township near Mosgrove to Ford Lewis and Nellie Edith (Laird) Zellefrow.

Mrs. Procious was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and its Women's Association. Her other memberships included the Ladies of Syria, Caravan 4, where she served as president in 1963; Mother's Club of McKeesport; White Oak Woman's Club, where she served as president from 1951-1953; and the Garden Club of McKeesport.

Survivors include one daughter, Sara "Sally" Maleug of Corvallis, Ore.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one foster sister, Lois Flick of Kittanning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward G. Procious; one daughter, Nancy Lee Procious DeWoody; and one infant son, who died at birth and who was a twin of her daughter, Nancy.

PROCIOUS - Friends of Julia Melissa (Zellefrow) Procious, 90, of Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, formerly of White Oak, who died Aug. 1, 2002, will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Sunday at the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin St., McKeesport, where private funeral services will be held Monday with the Rev. Dr. Darrell Knopp officiating. Burial will be in the Kittanning Cemetery. Arrangements by Hunter.
