Jasper affidavit

This day personally appeared before the undersigned an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid John Jasper Sen�r aged Sixty Nine years the thirteenth day of February and who being first duly sworn doth on oath Declare that he was well acquainted with John McWhorter Deceased a pensioner of the United States for Services in the Revolution and is well acquainted with his widow Elizabeth McWhorter who at this time resides in the County of Casey State of Kentucky.

He further states that the said John and Elizabeth McWhorter were married in the State of South Carolina Union District in either the year 1783 or 1784 which he cant now state positively. He was not present at their wedding but he was at their Infair the day after the wedding.

The said Elizabeth was recognized publicly by the said John as his Wife so regarded by every body. He has known her ever since and has no doubt they were married.

John McWhorter was twice married. By his first marriage he was a Brother in law of this appearant. Given under my hand this 19th day of December 1838.

Sworn to and subscribed before me, an acting Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid. And I do certify that the said John Jasper is a credible witness and his statement entitled to credit.

William Fox (Ford?), clerk of the County Court holden for Pulaski County do Certify that B(?) Goggin Esquire whose Signature appears(?) to the above and foregoing affidavit of John Jasper Sen�r is an acting Justice in the Commission of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid duly Commissioned and qualified agreeably to the Constitution and Laws of this Commonwealth, and that his Signature is Genuine and that full faith and cr his attestation is in (and?) form of law, and the full faith and Credit is now and ought to be given to his official act (as?)

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal of Office, at Office in the Town of Somerset, this 19th day of December AD 1838 and 47th year of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Will Fox (Ford?), Clerk of the Court of Pulaski County

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Pulaski County (Court?)

I Joseph Porter presiding Justice in the Commission of the Peace in and for the County Court (holden?) for Pulaski County, do hereby Certify that Will, Alias William Fox (Ford?), whose Signature appears to the above and foregoing Certificate is now, and is as of the time of Subscribing his name thereto acting clerk to the Pulaski County Court as in his said Certificate mentioned and that his Signature is Genuine, and that his Attestation is in (?) form of Law, and that full faith or Credit is now and should be paid to all his Official acts as (such?).
