village and
municipality in the
Rožňava District in the
Košice Region of
Slovakia. The
village lies at an
altitude of 330
meters and covers an
area of 10.760 km˛. It has a
population of about 600 people. It's situated in the blind Dlhovská valley near the cave Domica. The
cave was used as a dwelling and shelter a long time ago which is proved by
unique findings from the old Stone Age. The village is for the first time
mention on paper in the year 1332 under the name Horuáti. It was
established by the family of Kacsics, later it was possessed by the Bebeks. Dlhá
Ves captures you with a kept surroundings with interesting carvings in shape of
bus stations, entrance portals to church, cemetery and local park with a small
fountain. Wooden is also the memorial to the victims of the First and Second
World War. From among historical monuments there captures a classicistic
evangelical church from the year 1792. Folk architecture and culture is
presented by Vidiecky dom (village house) in which you can get know life of
local inhabitants in past centuries. Accommodation is offered in private houses
in the village and the Pension Ferdi Rancs where you can also ride a horse. The
village lies at an
