My Ashworth Ancestors (Addendum to My Full Web Site )
This
website is a temporary addendum to my full family tree website
and contains only the ancestors of my mother - Amy Ashworth.
Much of the data, that of the two oldest generations on my
mother's paternal, Ashworth, side is newly discovered. One thing
which I have unexpectedly confirmed is that my mother's paternal
ancestors are all firmly based in Rochdale and more particularly
in Spotland,Furtherside areas of Bagslate, Norden and (Catley)
Lanehead. I have to date found no-one any further afield than
Heywood, Ashworth. What I would really like to find is an unusual
Rochdale surname but unfortunately every name I have found has
very firm, and common usage, Rochdale roots. Sometimes it is like
looking for a needle in a haystack or in this case in a cotton
mill !
Names newly added to the Ashworth side of the family are :
MILLS CHADWICK BOOTH GRINDROD PARKER

Not
everything is confirmed yet by any means and I am sure that time
will show that there are omissions, errors and inaccuracies.
There are also what are at the moment educated guesses based on
naming patterns where available. Fortunately, for me, in the 1800s
my family did tend to name their children after their parents and
siblings.
Certainly once we get before the 1837 date for compulsory
registration of births marriages and deaths it is not generally
possible to get certificated evidence. Where documentary evidence
is available then I have checked it.
Research is ongoing and corrections will be applied as new, amended information becomes available to me.

That does not yet include the newly discovered Ashworth details which are contained in this addendum but it will, in time, be updated to include them, once more research has been done and I am happier that I have confirmed the facts.
