Additional Information
Signature
Signature of Christopher, 1824 (as marriage witness of his brother John Smith Hopton) Unfortunately Christopher died aged only 35 years old. It appears he only had one surviving son, (I have found no reference to any earlier children). His widow Elizabeth had a daughter Jane Hopton(b.~1843), but she was the 'natural' daughter of Christopher Pickering, to whom she was later married. There is no known contact with the rest of the Hopton family after Christopher's death.Trade Directories
