INGEBORG KVINGE HOLME

INGEBORG HOLME
Ingeborg Holme, 82, who had lived in Vancouver for the past 48 years, died at a Vancouver nursing home Thursday. Mrs. Holme was born in Bergen, Norway, March 10, 1883, and came to the United States at the age of 19. She settled in Hanley Falls, Minn., until moving to Vancouver in 1917. She had resided at 3605 Y St. prior to moving to the nursing home.

A member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Vancouver, she also was an honorary member of Columbia Lodge No. 58 of the Sons of Norway.

Three sons, Ervin Holme, Yakima; Gerhart Holme, Seattle; and Donald Holme, Vancouver; and four daughters, Mrs. Gus Henkle, Okanogan, Wash.; Mrs. George Hilstrom, Castro Valley, Calif.; Mrs. Delbert Ekenberg, Berkeley, Calif.; and Mrs. Warren Wilson, Barstow, Calif., survived their mother. Also surviving are brothers, Sigfred Kvinge, Stavanger, Norway; Melvin Kvinge, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and sisters, Mrs. Aagot Kvingedal, Bergen, Norway, and Mrs. Anna Soltvedt, Minneapolis, Minn. Eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Harald Sigmar officiating. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery. Knapp-Gunderson Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in honor of Mrs. Holme.

MILLY HOLMES

Millie Holmes

Millie Holmes, 96, of Brookings, died April 30 in a Curry medical facility.

Cremation was scheduled.

Mrs. Holmes was born April 8, 1885, in Woodlake, Minn. She worked for many years as a self-employed dressmaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jerry O'Connor of Brookings; a son, Robert Mulrooney of Palm Springs, Calif; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

BEN KVINGE

Kvinge, Ben - Age 79, May 10, 1961, at Vancouver, Wash. Born Sept. 4, 1881 in Norway, he had lived in Clark County the past 32 years. A retired carpenter, he resided at Rt. 1, Box 945, Camas. Surviving are his wido, Maude J. Kvinge; a son, Carroll C. Kvinge of Vancouver; two grandchildren; a brother, Theodore G. Kvinge of Beaverton, Ore.; and sisters, Mrs. Frank Gardner of Portland, Ore., and Millie Holmes of Santa Cruz, Calif. Mr. Kvinge was a member of Fern Prairie Grange No. 866 and Carpenter's Union Local 1466, Camas. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel. Pastor O. A. Langehough will officiate. Vault interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery. The Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

DORIS KVINGE

COLETA-Doris Chapman Kvinge, 85, of Coleta, died Sunday, February 20, 2011. Mrs. Kvinge was born December 8, 1925 in Seneca, the daughter of Nelson and Gladys (Jelm) Chapman. She married Milton Kvinge on June 20, 1953 in Seneca. She was an avid participant at Coleta United Methodist Church, Coleta. Survivors include one son Marc Kvinge of Coleta; four daughters Laurel (Mark) Sperry of Bloomington, Donna (Jeffrey) Gfeller of Creve Coevr MO, Cheryl Kvinge of Palatine and Debra (Michael) Slawinski of Buffalo Grove; one brother Gerald (Charolette) Chapman of Normal; and one sister Marilyn Mogaard; and five grandchildren Tyler and Courtney Sperry, Jennifer and Daniel Gfeller, and Michelle Slawinski. Funeral service will be Saturday February 26, 2011 at 10AM at the Coleta United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Jungnickel, officiating, with luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at Stevanger Cemetery, in Seneca at 3pm, on Saturday February 26, 2011. Visitation will be Friday February 25, 2011 from 4-7PM at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. Kvinge--Melvin Alexander, 84, of 2563 11th Ter. N, died Wednesday (Aug. 5, 1970). Born in Norway he came here 12 years ago from Chicago. Retired printer. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora E. Kvinge; two sons, Lowell C. Kvinge, Orange, Calif., and Milton M. Kvinge, Chicago; a daughter, Dr. Virginia E. Kvinge, Newport Beach, Calif. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the C. MILTON KVINGE

Milton M. Kvinge of Palatine
Milton M. Kvinge was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Chicago, to Melvin and Nora (Lokken) Kvinge. He died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Mr. Kvinge lived most of his life in Chicago and Palatine, where he raised his family. He worked as an insurance adjuster and retired in Coleta, Ill. He is survived by his children, Marc Kvinge, Laurie (Mark) Sperry, Donna (Jeff) Gfeller, Debbie (Mike) Slawinski and Cherie Kvinge; grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney, Jennifer, Daniel and Michelle; sister, Dr. Virginia E. Kvinge; and his niece, Britta Puttman. Milton was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Doris (Chapman) Kvinge and his parents. Visitation is from 4 until 9 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Kvinge Funeral Rites Thursday

Funeral services for Randolph Kvinge, 39, Goldendale carpenter who died Sunday evening from a heart attack, will be held from the Chapman chapel Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here.

Kvinge, who lived on the Freer place northwest of Goldendale, was employed by R. V. Blinn, local contractor. Funeral services will be conducted by the Louis Leidl Legion post. Kvinge is survived by his widow.

Obituary

Randolph Kvinge was born at Woodlake, Minn., December 3, 1899. He came with his parents Mette and Martin Kvinge, to Portland, Oregon while still a young child. There he lived until two years ago when he and his wife moved near Goldendale. He was residing at this place at the time of his death, May 15, 1938.

He married Nellie Beaver August 14, 1931, at Portland, Oregon. He was a member of the Louis Leidl Post of the American Legion, of Goldendale, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Portland. He enlisted in the army for the World War, July 31, 1917, and served overseas for eighteen months as a private in the 147th Field Artillery, Battery A.

He is survived by his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Millie Holmes and Mrs. Mabel Gardner, both of Portland; two brothers, Theodore of Portland, and Benjamin of Washougal, Washington; four nieces and four nephews.

Funeral services were held from the Chapman chapel Thursday, May 19, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by the Louis Leidl Post, American Legion. Burial followed in the local I.O.O.F. cemetery.

MANDELSLOW--Passed away Oct. 20, 1950, Alfred Arthur (Mandy) Maandelslow of 2191 West 1st Ave., in his 59th year. The deceased was a member of the Burrard Lions Club. Survived by his loving wife, Sigrid Louise; his mother, Mrs. Anna Mandelslow, and 1 brother, Edward Mandelslow, both of Kitchener, Ontario. 1890 - 1994
Sigrid Mandelslow, 103, of Tacoma, died June 13, 1994 at the Tacoma Lutheran Home. She was born Sept. 8, 1890 in Masfjorden, Norway. She came to America in 1910 and had lived in North Dakota, Montana, Vancouver B. C. and Anacortes before moving to Fircrest in 1984. She was a member of the Anacortes Lutheran Church.

She leaves a loving family, nieces, Alice (Roy) Overton, Fircrest, Grethe Miller, CA; great-nieces, Linda Carlton, Fircrest, Wanda Myers, Tacoma, Bonnie Humason, Tacoma; sister, Ingeborg Hansen, Olso, Norway; numerous nieces and nephews in Norway.

Special thanks to the loving caregivers at the Tacoma Lutheran Home.
