Hi Ken, Merry Christmas to you and all of our Wyoming Krenzelok family, Thank you so much for sharing about Paulasa. I didn't know about it. What a great tradition! When I get a chance I'm make a post on the Krenzelok website so the family knows about this tradition. I hope all is well with you and the family. LEARNING OUR KRENZELOK FAMILY CHRISTMAS TRADITION
Today at we are discovering the traditions of Christmas in Poland. One of the traditions in Poland is that what occurs over Christmas will be indicative of the year to come, so particular attention is paid to cleaning windows and homes as that will ensure a clean household the following year. Likewise, special attention is paid to the weather, as that is considered indicative of the year to come, the ideal of course being a white Christmas with blankets of fresh snow.

One tradition we especially like is the consideration that no one should be alone at Christmas and so it is custom to always set a spare seat at the table for the unexpected traveller or guest who may arrive to join the festivities.

Unusually, Santa Claus Day is some weeks before Christmas Day, with St Nicholas arriving on December 6th either secretly or in person. Christmas Day therefore is a day of total rest for families who have gathered and prepared everything in advance. The only work permissible on Christmas Day is heating food previously prepared.
