Obituary Ivan
Shockey of Parkersburg, WV passed away February 27, 2005, after an
extended illness.
He was born Aug. 11, 1935, in
Ravenswood, the son of the late H. Gordon and Maudie Shockey.
He was a faithful member of the
Church of Christ on Lost Pavement Road in Parkersburg. He loved to sing
and led the singing in services for many years prior to his illness. He
was previously employed by Kaiser Aluminum, Jackson County Board of
Education and Cannalco in Hannibal, Ohio. He was self-employed at the time
of his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 48
years, Nancy (Shook) Shockey; one daughter, Missy Reeder and husband,
Randy, of Parkersburg; one son, Dwight of West, WV; daughter-in-law,
Melinda Shockey of Washington, WV; two brothers, Robert Shockey of
Ravenswood and Glen Shockey of Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Angela
(Trevor) Price of Canton, Ohio, Carrie (Anthony) Bays of Vienna, Jason
Reeder of Parkersburg and his fiancé, Andrea Conover of Beavercreek, Ohio,
Nathan Shockey of Washington and Erika (Quentin) Brady of Washington; four
great-grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, and Katelyn Price and Jackson Bays;
and a fifth great-grandchild due in March.
He was preceded in death by three
brothers, Lester, Bill and Cleon Shockey.
Services will be 11 a.m.
Wednesday at the Roush Funeral Home Chapel, Raveswood, with Evangelist
Daniel Ruegg speaking. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may
call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
