Will Isaac's will
which is on file in Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky, reads as follows:
"In the name of God, Amen. I Isaac
Shockey of Mason County and the State of Kentucky, being weak in body of a
sound Memory and in my perfect senses do make my last will and testament
in the following manner.
"First, knowing and believing that
it is appointed once for all men to die and it appearing that my departure
is near at hand, my desire is that, after all my just debts is paid that
my beloved wife hold and perfectly enjoy all and every species of all my
personal property as well that which is owing me as that which I now have
in possession during her natural life and to act and do with it as she may
think proper, at her departure to dispose of it as she shall see cause,
but not to any persons except my heirs that is to any she is to divide it
among them as may seem best in her mind." "Secondly, I do Appoint my son,
Isaac Shockey, my sole Executor of this my last will and Testament
disannuling and entirely revoking all others before made by me.
"In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of April in the year of
our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and one.
