Obituary

Elva Mae Shockey Wratchford, age 69 of Fort Fun Road, Moorefield, passed this life on Saturday morning, January 15, 2005 at her residence.

Born in Hardy County on February 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William Shockey and Eliza Fitzwater Shockey and was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Philip Wratchford on May 28, 2003.

Mrs. Wratchford is survived by three daughters, Phyllis M. Wratchford, Linda S. Mongold, both of Fort Run and Sharon E. Eye of Moorefield; one son, Matthew Scott Wratchford, also of Fort Run and one step-daughter, Nora Helmick Phillips, also of Fort Run. In addition, four sisters, Evelyn Ratliff, Alma Coby, Pearl Bosley, all of Dover Hallow, Moorefield and Ruth Evans of Old Fields; three brothers, Darrell "Billy" Shockey of Moorefield, Jim Shockey and Blaine Shockey, both of Dover Hallow, Moorefield; six grandchildren; one step-granddaughter and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at the Elmore Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Davis officiating. Burial was in the Walnut Grove Brethren Church Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under direction of the Elmore Funeral Home in Moorefield, WV.
