Jamie's great-grandfather Jan Golembiewski immigrated in 1901 and married on January 27, 1907. The marriage license for his marriage to Tekla Gdula states that he lives in Pencoyd in Manayunk in Philadelphia. The license states they were both born in Austria Poland.

Jan was born on December 12, 1879 and employed as an ironworker. His 1930 census record indicates he immigrated in 1901.

He may be the same as Jan Golembiewsky who is listed on the manifest for the S.S. Barbarossa which sailed from Bremen, arriving at Ellis Island on March 16, 1901. Jan Golembiewsky who traveled on this voyage traveled with his brother Thomas who was 4 years older than he. They were listed as going to their Uncle Joseph in New Jersey. Their hometown was listed as Piotrskowo, Russia.

Other possible surnames are Golebioski, Golebiowski,Golombyesky, Golombiewski, or Gombeski.

Tekla was born November 12, 1887. She immigrated in 1904 on board the S.S. Neckar.

Together, they raised 9 children in Roxborough in Philadelphia. The family attended St. Josaphat's Catholic Church when Sara, Jamie's Nanny Auch, was a girl.
