I have contacted both sturbridge and southbridge town clerks in hopes of locating his birth record
or at least to know where the birth took place
in a recent search but no such record was ever found for the birth date
I have listed 30 Nov 1852

I know that the year 1852 is correct at least because it clicks with other sourse information
such as his age at the time of marriage the age at the time of death and his age on Census documents

they all point to the year 1852
