Howdy, as of approx. March of 2004 I have not been for
the most part, maintaining the Bowen family web pages. This was mainly
due to a major loss of the original as well as the backup data that I had
stored on Iomega Zip Discs. All of my Zip Discs failed or became corrupted
at the same time. I still do not know why this happened, perhaps a virus
or a failure in the reader itself destroyed the discs and made them unreadable.
I attempted to reconstruct a new batch of working files from the materials
that were online,but found the task too daunting, and with the loss of
original materials it was impossible for me to complete the reconstruction
or complete work in progress. It is because of this loss of materials that
I have decided to discontinue the work on the Bowen family web project.
This was not the first loss of materials that occurred
while creating and maintaining the site. It was however the most catastrophic.
I believe that with the resources that were available to me that I have
placed online a resource that can be helpful to researchers in a variety
of topics. The website will therefore remain online in it's current configuration,
however due to the loss of materials, I can no longer answer questions
concerning Bowen family lineage. Perhaps someday in the future Iwill start
again researching my Bowen family lineage in a limited scope, or another
will take up the task and add to the information available.
