BOWEN, Edwin, b. (probably) Morriston, Swansea, Glamorgan;
m. 1872, Morriston, to Anna ROBERTS, also b.Morriston.
They later emigrated to Ohio, USA. Edwin was a 24th degree Mason. BOWEN, Griffith, gentleman, b. 1600, Llangennith,
Gower, Glamorgan, son of Francis BOWEN and Ellen FRANKLIN. Griffith
m. 1627, Wales, to Margaret FLEMING, b. 1601, "Gallihur"
(sic), Glamorgan, daughter of Henry FLEMING and Alice
DAWKINS. Children, b. Wales: Margaret, b. 1629; Francis, b.
1630; William, b. 1632; Henry, b. 1634; Mary, b. 1635; and Esther, b. 1638.
In 1638/39, Griffith went to Boston, Massachusetts, America, where further
children were born. He returned 1650 to live in Swansea, Glamorgan.
Margaret d. before 1670, Swansea; Griffith d. 1676, Southwalk,
Essex, England. BOWEN, John, b. ca. 1750s, Camrose, Pembrokeshire;
m. 1778, at Llanddowror, Carmarthenshire, to Ann ERASMUS.
Possibly parents of Mary; and John, b. 1793, parish of Cyffig,
near Whitland, Carmarthenshire. BOWEN, John, farmer, b. 1793, parish of Cyffig,
near Whitland, Carmarthenshire; m. 1816, St Clears,

Garden Street, Bangor. Widow Anne m.[2] Oct 30, 1848, to William
WILLIAMS, master mariner of Well Street, Bangor. BOWEN, John, b. ca. 1890, Pontardawe, Glamorgan,
son of a local district nurse or midwife. Served in the Hussars and emigrated
to Australia ca. 1920. BOWEN, John, b. Aug 11, 1896, Anglesey, son
of William PARRY and Kate BOWEN, b. Johnstown, Denbighshire.
Kate emigrated to USA and John became John Bowen HUGHES when adopted by
a HUGHES family, probably of Amlwch, Anglesey, but later (1907)
in Rhondda, Glamorgan. John d. Jun 1962, Heol-Las, Glamorgan. BOWEN, Rebekah, b. 1800, Clarbeston, Pembrokeshire,
daughter of William BOWEN and Ph(o)ebe LLEWELLIN [source: family history
contact]. Rebekah m. 1819, Clarbeston to John BOWEN, gardener,
b. Llanboidy, Carmarthenshire [sources: marriage index;
1841/51 censuses]. Daughter: Ellen Martha Letitia, b. 1838, Dale,
Pembrokeshire. John d. possibly 1873, Hubberstone, Pembrokeshire

Twrch Valley, parish of Ystradgynlais, Breconshire.
Richard was son of Owen BOWEN, d. 1832, and Mary ?, b. ca. 1796; and brother
of David, b. 1816; John, b. 1821; Jane, b. 1826; and Ann, b. 1830. BOWEN, Thomas, b. 1774; m. Mary ?. Lived Llandeilo
Fawr, Carmarthenshire. Children: Luce, b. 1800 (m. Rowland REES
- see separate entry); Mary, b. 1802 (m. 1823 to David MORGAN); and Hannah,
a spinster. BOWEN, Thomas, farmer and surveyor, b. ca. 1797, Ty Coch,
Carway, Carmarthenshire; m. Margaret HUGH(ES) of Llanelli,
Carmarthenshire. Daughter, Mary (m. Jul 29, 1848, to David WILLIAMS
of Morfa Bach Farm, Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire). Thomas farmed
at Moat Farm, Pembrey, Carmarthenshire, and was a surveyor
for the Kidwelly and Llanelli canal company. He d. Jan 29, 1869, at Aqueduct
Cottage, Pembrey. BOWEN, Thomas, stonemason, b. 1811, St David's, Pembrokeshire;
m. Oct 20, 1836, Whitchurch, Pembrokeshire, to Mary HARRIES,
dairykeeper, b. Jan 1, 1814, Henry's Moat, Pembrokeshire,
daughter of Daniel HARRIES and Sarah ?. Children, b. St David's:
