To celebrate Valorie's
49th birthday, we met for dinner at Eva's Restaurant
and Wine Bar. The restaurant is located near Green
Lake in Seattle.
After singing "Happy
Birthday", Valorie blows out the candles. Notice the
devilish smirk on Tara's face? She spaced out the
candles to make it more difficult to blow out all of
the candles!
Oh, and did I mention
that Anne made the cake? It was yummy Devils-food
chocolate.
Anne presents her lovely
meal of chicken and chantrell mushrooms.
Valorie opens gifts. She
got a security system for her laptop computer. Most
people, however, ignore what Valorie is showing and
wonder just what the lady behind her was so intent in
eating.
On Saturday, May 4, we
gathered to have brunch and celebrate the engagement
of Paul and Tara.
The engagement party
group, minus Ron and Carrie who had to leave early to
return to work. A marvelous time was had by all. A
great job was done by Deane in hosting the wonderful
party.
It was perfect weather
for a backyard barbecue on Mother's Day.
Paul volunteered to cook
on the barbecue. The thermometer in the background
proves that it can get over 70 degrees in May!
Thomas fixed yummy
homemade pizza using all fresh ingredients.
While the cooks were
cooking, Ted tried to put on a shadow-puppet
show...or something like that.
Anne and Porkie strike a
pose.
Lola is caught bird
watching. Either that or perhaps she was trying to
figure out what Ted's shadow puppet was doing.
Making a statement with
both hands and voice. Mollie was not
impressed.
After cooking the
pizza's, Thomas enjoys the conversation and a tall
Margarita.
One of the dog-days of
summer!
Memorial Day weekend
gives us a reason to pause and remember...
Flowers and a flag at
Lola Cowan's grave in the National Cemetery.
On Memorial Day, we
visited the Taste
Woodinville celebration.
The "Taste" included a
minature horse.
There were cute doggies
who wanted a few tastes of their own.
The ducks gathered around
the watering hole to gossip about ducky
things.
Hamlet was dejected when
he realized that someone had left him salad to eat.
Salad? Can you imagine a pig getting any calories
from plants?
There was one scruffy
character that they wouldn't let in...
Thomas and Lola inspect
one of the many herbs just outside of the Herbfarm
Restaurant.
Valorie and mom pause for
a rest on a bench in front of the Herbfarm
Restaurant.
Where's Lola?
Ron and Bob stand across
from the Herbfarm Restaurant getting ready to take a
picture of the photographer.
Anne spent the day
working as a hostess at the Herbfarm
Restaurant.
On our way home, we
visited the Herbfarm gardens and greenhouse.
