On Sunday, August 4, Paul
and Tara invited the extended family to a
housewarming party at their home in Seattle.
Tara performed the
official housewarming blessing dance.
There were beautiful
flowers as a center-piece on the dining room
table...
The guests enjoyed good
conversation as the sun poured through the living
room window.
Ted opened the jeweled
watch that was proudly worn by Selma Anderson.
Paul cooked a wonderful
meal on his new barbecue. It included steak, salmon,
popits, corn and assorted vegetables. It was
yummy!
Through the "cubby hole"
the ladies wash a few dishes.
There was a front porch
bee...
And an amazing view of
leaping dolphins from the fireplace mantel!
Bob stands beside his
enormous sun flower. Thinking of the story of Jack n'
the bean stalk, Bob thinks that somehow the sunflower
reaches to the clouds...
Early in the season, the
corn started to tassle when it was about two feet
tall. Fortunately, with a bit of warm weather and
plenty of water, the corn stands taller than Bob,
who, in this picture, can't get by without making a
silly face.
The blueberries did very
well this year. They were plump and delicious!

On Saturday, August 17,
Ted, Valorie and I visited the grave of Henry Allen,
a Civil War veteran who was buried less than a mile
from the cabin. Click

behind this grave site.

On Saturday, August 24,
Craig Rhyne organized a reunion of the Students for
Responsible Expression (SRE). His mother, Nelma, made
a special SRE cake to celebrate the occasion.
Steve Siemion performed
the duties of head chef, perfectly grilling chicken
and salmon for the many grateful guests. Although a
few of the guests noticed that Steve had recently
trapped a number of moles from his lawn, Steve
insisted that the grilled meats were indeed
chicken.
At the cake-cutting
ceremony, Paul and Chris waxed eloquent in telling
stories of the achievements of the many guests
present.
Craig Rhyne tries to
explain to the group why he was over four hours late
in arriving at his own party...
Steve and Chris tell
stories of their past follies.
Chris shows off his most
recent mode of transportation. The Ford is in
beautiful condition. The guests were overwhelmed by
its beauty, until they had to help Chris figure out
why the headlights wouldn't come on as he was trying
to leave after dark!
The kids had great fun
playing with a ten-week old puppy named "Skittles".
Here they find that the puppy really likes to play
with their pet bunny.

wonderful hostess, Milissa Siemion, her mother
Shirley, Craig Rhyne (SRE President), Dick Patten,
and Professor Paul Herrick.
