Dad holds Ron and I
for this picture taken in 1950. I believe it was
taken in Marietta, Georgia.
|
At two years old,
mom and Ron have to hold my hand to keep me from
disappearing and visiting the aliens again. Or, so
the story goes.
|
|
|
Were we learning a
new dance routine? Doing the wave? Or maybe Ron was
saying, "I'm soooo coool!" Just
kidding
|
!
|
|
Less than one year
old, I am held securely by Ron for this photo. It
must have been hard work, because I have my tongue
going full speed ahead.

Our house in Gold
Beach, Oregon, in 1950. Ron is standing against the
chimney. You can see the family vehicle (a jeep)
peeking from the corner of the
house.
|
1951. So, I'm still
interested in where Ron's face went. Maybe Ron
planned a quick "get away" on the scooter leaning
against the fence.

One of the risks of
mask wearing is a good poke in the
eyeball.
|
|
|
Not even two years
old and I'm already trying to reach the pedals and
ride off into the sunset. Obviously the horn held
great facination for me. The adults thought otherwise
and made it more difficult for me to announce my
presence.

|
|
At barely two years
old, I am being held captive by Daffy Duck. Or, was
it that I was insisting on removing that ugly mask to
see if Ron was still behind it?
|
Dressed alike, Ron
and I pose with our mother for this photo taken in
1953. I was three years old
|
.
|
|
Here is our family
in October, 1953 as we were visiting friends in
Spokane, Washington. It's amazing how Ron and I
always picked out the same outfits to wear! Nice
cuffs on the jeans, too.

Ruby Blakemore poses
with the gang in February, 1954. From left to right,
Larry Kammer, Bob Zimmerman, Ruby, Ron Zimmerman and
Ed Kammer. Looks like Ron is yelling
"SMILE!"

|
|
Here I am in 1955
doing a bit of weeding in the flower borders in our
back yard.
|
Ron checks out the
forest with a new pair of binoculars. Our garden
can be seen in the background. Looks like a good
year for corn.
|
|
|
Here is the house
in Bellevue. We called it "Sunset Ranch". It had a
wonderful view of the Olympic mountains. Notice the
new Chevy in our circular
driveway

Here is Bill
Zimmerman in 1956, doing what he really enjoyed.
Those are quite the steaks.
|
|
|
All dressed up for
that first school photo. Too bad it wasn't in
color!
|
Little Bobby in
the first grade.
Great hair cut.
|
|
|
What a wonderful
photograph. They must have had a very difficult
time making me smile.
|
|
|
So here I was in the
third grade. Is that a devilish smirk on my face? At
least I still had a full head of
hair!

|
|
At ten years old,
here I am huffing and puffing to blow out my
birthday candles. Although it appears that I am
being "ape-like", you might notice that I am
holding a match in my hand. Can you make out what
is written in icing on the top of the
cake?
