CEMETERY RECORDS

The goal of this project is threefold:

1.) To find each family member who died and was buried in Bibb County over
the years, and to list them by name, birth/death dates, and by the name of
the cemetery in which they were buried. (If you happen to have a photograph
or the inscription on the gravestone... terrific! Please include it.)

2.) To compile a list of all cemeteries in Bibb County, complete with their
location and any mailing address or contact information. Please add any
additional material you may know to your submission and it will be put
together in a separate section of the page.

3.) To make a list of all known online sources of Bibb County Cemetery
Records -- also to be placed in a section of its own on the page.

DEAR ANCESTOR

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
