Now, for the first time in history, genealogists are able to determine scientifically if a male of their line is related to any other with the same surname. DNA is also a perfect companion to conventional research in order to confirm lineage.

Y-DNA 12 Marker Test: this test is the world standard to verify the Y chromosome for genetic matches between males. Results are placed in Family Tree DNAs Y-DNA database and when 2 people of the same surname show identical results, Family Tree DNA (FTDNA), will inform both parties. The customer receives a Certificate & report generally describing Y-DNA sequencing and the meaning of the probability between matches.

Y-DNAPlus 25 Marker Test:this test adds 13 markers to the above for genetic matches between males. Results are again placed in FTDNA's Y-DNA database and when 2 people show the same identical or near identical results, FTDNA will inform both parties if they have both signed the FTDNA Release Form. A perfect match of 25 markers means a lesser number of generations before a Most Common Recent Ancestor (MRCA) can be determined. The customer receives a Certificate & report generally describing Y-DNA sequencing and the meaning of probability between matches. This test combines in one the Y-DNA and Y-DNARefine tests.

Y-DNARefine:this refinement of the 12 marker Y-DNA test dramatically reduces the time (in generations) to the Most Recent Common Ancestor. Y-DNARefine adds the same 13 additional markers to your previous 12 marker test at a later date without the need for you to provide an additional sample. It is an upgrade of the Y-DNA test providing the same information as the Y-DNAPlus test.

Y-DNA37 - 37 marker Test: tests the Y chromosome for genetic matches between males. Results are placed in our Y-DNA database and when 2 people show the same identical or near identical results, we will inform both parties if you have both signed the FTDNA Release Form. A perfect match of 37 markers means a lesser number of generations before a Most Common Recent Ancestor (MRCA) can be determined. The customer receives a Certificate & report generally describing Y-DNA sequencing and the meaning of probability between matches.

Ethnic and Geographic Origins:these tests also identify your ethnic and geographic origins, both recent and far distant. ( Haplogroup) You will be able to identify Native-American or African Ancestry as well as Cohanim Ancestry.

Combined - Y-Chromosome and MtDNA Tests Relative Match:is a combination of the Y-DNA and the Maternal Match test. Males are tested for both the Y chromosome & mtDNA of males. The test entitles you to inclusion in both databases, certificates and reports as well as notification if you match any genetic cousins on either side of your family.

Comprehensive Ancestral/Anthropological Test DNAWorks:DNAWorks is the most comprehensive DNA test available in the market for genealogy and anthropology purposes. It puts together the power of the Y-DNAPlus, mtDNA and DNAPrint, allowing you to establish a clear picture of your ancestry. Besides checking your 25 marker Y-DNA and the mtDNA for your paternal and maternal lineages respectively, it also gives you a report based on the DNAPrint analysis, which establishes in clear percentage terms your deep ancestral anthropology as to the major population groups. (e.g. Native American, East Asian, Indo-European, sub-Saharan African, etc.) Because it includes the Y-DNA, this test is only for males.
