Billiou ~ Bilyeu Undergoing Serious Re-editing Question: Are the Bilyeus really descendants of Pierre Billiou?
Documents and
vital
records now available online throw serious
doubt on
our "traditional" Billiou~Bilyeu genealogy reports connecting the Bilyeus of Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri with those of Staten Island, New York. |

A Disclaimer:
I first delayed
making this report public because of serious problems trying to
prove a direct-line from Pierre Billiou of Staten Island, Richmond County, New York, to my ancestor,John Bilyeu, who died 21 Jan 1853 in Richwoods Township, Miller County, Missouri. The dean of Bilyeu researchers, Edna Hazel McCullough Lowery, co- author of Our Bilyeus, is quoted as saying she believed the Bilyeus were all descended from Pierre, but the records just don't exist to prove it. Even though most Bilyeu researchers agree that we trace to Pierre Billiou, a consensus of opinion is not proof. I was willing to accept a preponderance of the evidence, but there wasn't enough serious evidence. Hoping the added amount of documents and vital records available online might have some answers, I recently renewed my Bilyeu research, trying to prove once and for all, that we Bilyeus have a claim to Pierre. I was amazed (shocked!) at what I found, as it seems the early sources we quoted to prove a relationship, were often based on faulty research, and the only descendants of Pierre1 that can be proven at this time are his son Isaac2, his grandson Peter3and--maybe--his great-grandson, Peter4, born ca.1730. This report will start with what CAN be proven, cross some muddy ground, and resume with the proven Bilyeu brothers of Miller County, Missouri, who may or may not be the great-great-grandsons of Pierre Billiou.

Generation 1 The Immigrant Ancestor Early
researchers believed Thomas Billiou of Artois
in France was Pierre's father. In the 1970s,
however, this
was disproved by on-site research in Holland.
Unfortunately, many
researchers didn't keep up with the news as seen in this article
published in 1986.
"Thomas
Billiou (Bilyeu) in late 16OOs had moved from Artois in France
to Holland
because of religious persecution of the Huguenots. His son [sic]Pierre with his wife Francoise DuBois and children, together with other Walloons left Holland in 1661 for New Amsterdam where they arrived in August. " --White River Valley Historical Quarterly, Vol 9, No 3, Spring 1986 In September 1973,
the documents found in Holland clearly showed that Thomas was NOT the
father of Pierre.
Pierre Billiou, His Marriage
Date and His Father, by Almerican R. Boileau,
San Diego, CA., (November 1973) is a four page research paper on file at the DAR Library in Washington, D.C.; filed with 5 or so volumes of material pub- lished by the DuBois Family Association under the heading Chretein Du Bois Family. Mr. Boileau visited the Archives of Leiden, Holland in September 1973, and examined the marriage records of Pierre Billiou and Francoise DuBoys. The records he saw there were the church records of the publication of the banns and the records of marriages. Mr. Boileau's words: "At the publication of the banns on 9 April 1649, Pierre was sponsored by his father, 'Jeacq Biljouw.'" made preparations to immigrate to America.

Church of the Huguenots, Staten Island, N. Y.
Sacred to the memory of PIERRE BILLIOU
and of FRANCOISE DUBOIS,
both of Artois, who were married in the Walloon Church Leyden April 20, 1649, and emigrated to the New Netherlands May 9th, 1661, and of their daughter MARIE BILLIOU, who married at Wiltwyck, June 3, 1670, ARENDT JANSEN PRALL, who died on Staten Island 1725. May they rest in Peace. *** The Church
of the Huguenots was organized
in 1849 in Bloomingview (now
Huguenot).
Two years later the little brown church, as it was known, was built on the property given by the Hon. Benjamin P. Prall who was a direct descendant of Pierre Billiou, leader of the 1661 settlement. This little church stood until 1918 when sparks from a train engine set fire to the roof. The present church was erected in 1924 and is known as the Huguenot Reformed Church. In 1924 it was dedicated as a national memorial to the Huguenot settlers of our country. Memorial pillars and windows in the church commemorate Pierre Billiou and other early settlers of Staten Island --History of Stanton Island The

"The house
is modest
and
unimposing, a mix of additions added to
accommodate growing needs of several generations, with the major
portions being built in 1661, c.1680 (Stillwell portion), and 1760,1790,
and 1830 (the Perine portions).. The
resulting three chimneys seem more than the house needs,
and the middle one stands much higher than the
others. The Bilyeu portion of the house sits
at the rear and consists of a single main-floor room with a
steeply
pitched roof that provides the space for an attic accessed by narrow
steps. Although closed to the
public, one can view the house by
appointment. A family lives in the Stillwell
portion to keep the property looking lived in and to have a caretaker
on-site. June, 6, 1997 and a letter to, "Friends of the Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House," from the Staten Island Historical Society, May 3, 1999. Restoration that began in 1943 has continued off and on through the years. A Bilyeu Family fund raiser was begun early in 1999 to help in restoration of work on the windows in the oldest part of the house and to seek a solution to the rising damp in the stone walls which are contributing to the structure's deterioration." The house is currently the oldest house still standing on Staten Island, and the third oldest in NY State. Known as the Perine House, or the Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House, it's located at 1476 Richmond Road, Staten Island and is owned and maintained by the Staten Island Historical Society. 1664 - England claimed all Dutch properties and Staten Island became one of three divisions in the shire of Yorkshire. Nicholas Stillwell was elected Constable with the power to determine civil matters under ye value of five pounds. Above that amount there was recourse to the court across the water at Gravesend. Oude Dorp became Dover. Governor Francis Lovelace replaced Nicholls in 1668 and negotiated a final purchase of Staten Island from the Indians. Then, again, in 1673, for fifteen months, the Dutch recaptured New York, long enough for Pierre Billiou to be appointed Schout Scheppen (Sheriff and Magistrate) and to embroil himself in disagreements with his neighbors (Smith, 23). 1670
- Nicholas Stillwell won a suit he brought against
Pierre Billiou for title
to land
purchased from Pierre Billiou. Pierre was also sued by Thomas
Carle, for several abuses done him.
This same year, charges of a different type were brought by Ann Stillwell, Martha Billiou's mother-in-law, who claimed Pierre had assaulted and abused her son and daughter. The court ruled that if either family committed said offenses again, the first guilty party would be severely fined. --Terry Prall. 12 September: Pierre purchased land at Flatbush, Long Island. 25 August: Pierre elected Schout and Schepen of Staten Island.1674 - While serving as schout and schepen, Pierre apparently antagonized some of his fellow citizens. Charges were brought and a hearing held. On March 2nd, Pierre was still schout, but others had been appointed. 5 June: Pierre purchased additional land at Flatbush, Long Island. About 1675 , the Billious were joined on Staten Island by their eldest daughter, Marie, and her family. Marie had married ArentJansen Prall inKingston in 1670. The couple had two children, Peter and Maria, at the time of the move." --Terry Prall. Before his death, Pierre had acquired land at Great Kills, Oude Dorp, and Fresh Kills on Staten Island; 60 acress in Elizabeth Town, New Jersey [15 March 1677]; 60 acres in Piscatawasy, New Jersey [3 Feb 1678]; Bridgewater Twp. Notes
for Francoise Du Bois
The American
Descendants of Chrestien
DuBois
of Wicres, France, by William
Heidgerd,
Part One (New Paltz, New York: DuBois Family Association, 1968): Pierre's wife, Francoise, was the daughter of Chretien Du Bois, a prosperous middle class linen merchant and devout protestant from the village of Wicres, outside of Lille. Chretien was the father of five children: Francoise (b.1622), Anne (b.1624), Louis (1626-1696), Jacques (1628-1676) and another son, name unknown. Resentful of high taxes and fearful of religious persecution, Francoise and [her brother] Jacques Du Bois, left Wicres and settled in Leyden, Holland. Meanwhile, their brother Louis along with other Huguenot refugees moved to Mannheim, Germany (near Heidelberg) on the Rhine River. This area was called die Pfalz (hence the origin later of the village name of New Paltz). While in Germany, Louis DuBois married another French Huguenot, Catherine Blanchan in 1655. They emigrated to America in 1660 and traveled ninety miles up the Hudson River to a small community in the Kingston - Hurley area where he obtained a land grant in 1663. Francoise, and her husband Pierre Billiou also emigrated in 1660, settling in Staten Island, NY. Fourteen years later Jacques and his wife, Pierrone Bentyn arrived in Kingston. For more, see DuBois Family History and DuBois/Blanchan Family Note:
Mr. Heidgerd warns of a fake genealogy claiming falsely
that Chretian DuBois was of royal blood. For details, see

Francoise
died sometime before 1695.
On 17 January, 1695/96, Gerritje Spidgelaer published bans that she was about to marry Pierre Billiou. Gerritje was the widow of Jan Spiegelaer of Flatbush and she entered into an antenuptial agreement with Peter Billiou on January 17, 1695/6 indicating their intention to marry. They were married on the 19th. The antenuptial agreement is confirmed in Pierre Billiou's will, but it is clearly distinguishable from the will. It is recorded in a Book of Patents and Deeds. She signed as Gerretye spiegelaers. He signed as peter billiou. --Courtesy of Terry Prall Like the name "Billiou", Gerritje's name was often mispelled or entered incorrectly into documents. and appears differently in her marriage license than it does in the antenuptial agreement. On 15 September, 1701, a Peter Billious was licensed to marry Maria Braun. In his book on the Stillwell family, John E. Stillwell, M.D., suggests this was Pierre, and he was about to marry for the third time, as Goertje died between the time Pierre wrote his will (1699) and 1701. The exact date of Pierre's death is unknown. His will was proven in New York on 6 January 1702.

2. Marie2 Billiou (PIERRE1, JeanA, ThomasB) was born Bef. 03 Mar 1649/50 in Naaren, Holland, and died Bef. 1699 in Staten Is, NY. She married Arendt Jansen Prall13 1670 in First Dutch Church, Kingston, Ulster Co.,NY14,15. He was born 1646 in Nardy, France, and died 1725 in Staten Island, NY. Notes for
Marie Billiou:
Marie was baptized 6 March 1649/50 in the Walloon church at Leyden; "godparents Pierre Bocquet, Chrestienne Rousse et Catherine le Bateur." --Archives of Leiden, Netherlands; courtesy of the DuBois Family Association. Most researchers believe Marie immigrated with her uncle, Louis Du Bois, in 1660, the year before her parents and 4 siblings. She continued to live with Louis in Kingston, until after she was married, joining her parents on Staten Island after the birth of her first two children were born. It was Louis who acted as her legal guardian at the time of her marriage. Terry
Prall:
The connection between Pierre and Marie is based on several sources. [1] Marie's father was named in her baptismal record [2] When Marie and Arent married in Kingston in 1670, her uncle, Louis DuBois granted permission for the union. [3] After the first two kids were born, Arent and Marie moved to Staten Island. [4] Pierre named Arent as father of his grandchildren in his will: "The children of my daughter Maria, deceased." 1st of
this family to come to America was Peter Billiou, a French

wife Francoise DuBois, early settlers of Staten Island. (The name is spelled more than 50 different ways in the records). Peter's son, Isaac m. in 1684 Ida Sueberingh (Sebring) of Bergen (now Jersey City). They spent all of their married lives on Staten Island. At least three of their sons, Isaac, Abraham, and Lucas, migrated to Somerset Co. in the early 1700's. These three sons were born approximately between 1698 and 1705. Isaac's child, Marietje, was bp in the First Reformed Church of Raritan. Lucas' first child to be recorded as bp there was Mareya in 1731, and Abraham "Bellu" had a child bp in the same church in 1744.

Ann wrote her will shortly after her husband's death and while Isaac was still alive (see 5-20-1751 item). Did Isaac die between 1751 and his mother's death, or did she disown him? More information is needed, but it's looking as though Isaac left no issue and thus is not the link between the Billiou and Bilyeu families. Jane Rambout; born ca. 1690. Peter Billiou, the seventh child of Isaac and Ida Billiou, was born on Staten Island in 1700. He married Margrita Bilyeu, who was born in New York around 1704. They had nine children: Peter, Euryda, Abraham, Mareytje, John, Aeltje, Johannas, and Hendrick. Workman

Both
Van Name and Anderson have a similar list of Peter's children.
Anderson also mentions
a will written by Peter and proved in 1811. Trouble is, she is apparently confusing Peter3 (son of Isaac) born ca 1700 with his son, Peter4, born ca. 1740. And there's more bad news. Research shows the will Mrs. Anderson mentions appears to be that of Peter Blaw, a proven son of an early Dutch settler who was not related to the French Hugenot, Pierre Billiou. Compare the list of children given by Van Name and Mrs. Anderson with those listed in this report about Peter Blaw and his will. (More about the Blaw/Blauw/Blue family later.) 24. PETER4 BILLIOU (PETER3,

JeanA, ThomasB) Unsure Footing in Muddy Water WARNING: Only
Peter's name is proven. There was a Peter Bilyou and a Ledea
Bilyou living
in Somerset County who each filed claims for damages to property during the Revolutionary War. It's unknown what relationship they had to each other or to Peter3, Isaac2 and Pierre1Billiou. Both the
Workman family book by Mrs. Anderson and several Du Bois researchers
report that
Peter3 Billiou, son of Isaac, wrote a will which was proved 21 Mar 1811.24 Since Isaac's son was born no later than 1708, it seems they confused the generations, and if a Peter Billiou wrote a will ca 1811, it was Isaac's grandson. There's more trouble though, as it appears Anderson and/or the Dubois researchers confused the Blew/Blaw/Blauw/Blue families with the Billious. Here again are records from New Jersey: Peter BLAW (1725-1811),

How solid is the Blauw family genealogy? Is Peter

Franklin, Somerset Co., NJ proven to be the descendant of Dutch
immigrants?
I spent several days checking the reports on the Blue Family site and corresponding with the researchers. I am convinced that while they may have grabbed one or two of our Billious, the claims they make for Peter Blauw seem solid. Take a look at the website and judge for yourself: The Blue Family <http://members.tripod.com/blue_family/>. On the home page click on Family Genealogy, then click on the link: Earliest. The father of John Blaw [1.] is Jan Frederickse (Blauw) [A.2] and his father is Frederick Janss/Jansen [A.]. The major connection is the Blue Silver Cup, fabricated in the late 1600s by Jurian Blanck in Brooklyn. John Blaw [1.] willed the cup to his son John, and it has been passed down through the generations to this day. In addition to the silversmiths mark, there is an inscription I*F on the base of the cup. 24. (1742-1794), sons of Peter4
Billiou,
have each been named as the father of John Bilyeu who died in Miller County in 1853. There are clues that point to each of them. What we
know: ca 1832 John Bilyeu and his brother,
Andrew,
arrived together in Pulaski/Miller
Co. Missouri. They are both reported as having been born in Maryland. It's commonly accepted that among the 6 sons of Peter (1731-1811) were sons John and Andrew. While John (1742-1794) had a son named John, he did not appear to have had a son named Andrew. John and Andrew of Miller Co. Missouri are usually reported as having been born in Maryland. Peter Billiou is reported as having died in New Jersey, and there is no evidence he or his wife traveled to Maryland; while his brother John Billiou is said to have died in Kentucky after traveling through several states. Q's: 1. What proof that Peter and Margarita Billiou were ever in Md.? Ky? 2. What evidence is there that John Bilyeu (1775-1853) was born in Md.? There was no Allegany Co. Md. until much later. 3. Where is copy of Peter's will probated 1811 in N.J.that the DuBois Association say exists. This is the question that sent me searching. Found the will okay, but it is NOT Peter Billiou's. 4. Did John Billiou(1742) (brother of Peter(1731) leave a will? Any documentation re his sons? 5. What evidence is available to prove ANY connection between John Bilyeu (1775) and ANY of the Billiou's of Staten Is.? 30. Baptism record from Somerset County records reads, "1769 Jan 29 Blaw, John & Trynty -Altye " Are Atye, Altye and Aalte same person? The Blue genealogists suggest the names are the same, but that the daughter born in 1769 died bef. December 1773. v.
Aalte Bilyeu born 6 Dec 1773 in NJ; moved to Md.
vi. Peter Bilyeu born 1777 in Allegany Co., Md; died 7 July 1863 in Christian Co., Ill.

the move of the family from N. J. to Md .sometime between
1773-1777.
If the Workman book is accurate, it would appear that only Peter is born in Md. Letter

"I...feel confident in saying...John and Andrew are both sons of John Bilyeu and Tryntje Barents who married in Allegaheny Co. Md. In 1774..." This
marriage date--1774-- with dobs of children given below.
Children of John Billiou and Tryntje Barents are (as per Van Name): + 39 i. John5 Bilyeu, born 1760 in Six Mile Run, Somerset, NJ; died Aft. 1810. 40 ii. Mariya Bilyeu, born 10 Jul 1763. 41 iii. Atya Bilyeu, born ca. 1765. 42 iv. Heinrick Bilyeu, born ca. 1770. 43 v. Aalte Bilyeu, born ca. 1775. 44 vi. Peter Bilyeu, born 1777 in Maryland. 45 vii. Isaac Bilyeu, born ca. 1780 in Virginia. Note, in
neither list of children of John and Tryntje is there an Andrew, but
this is a minor
concern. What's important is that most if not all of the information about John Billiou, like that of his brother Peter, seem to be based on mixing up Billious with Blaws. Interlude
I cannot prove a connection between Peter Billiou who died
ca. 1811
in New Jersey between Pierre Billiou or
to John and Andrew Bilyeu who arrived in Miller County, Missouri ca. 1832. For the sake of discussion, if we make the assumption there IS a connection, there is still the problem of proving which son of the Peter Billiou was the father of John and Andrew. I believe there are only two choices. Take your pick and I guarantee I can provide a well respected genealogist who will agree, but no one has presented solid evidence for either choice. Perhaps some day we'll have the answers. JMK.

1861.Back on Safe Ground Notes for
JOHN BILYEU, Sr.:
The location of John Bilyeu's birth is usually given as Allegany, Co., Maryland. Our Bilyeus cites a census reading as the source, but in the 1850 census, John's daughter, Delilah Bilyeu Osborne, gives her father's place of birth as Md., while her brother Joseph (living in Marion Co. Ore.), states his father born in Ky; and brother Isaac states father born Tenn. There was no Allegany County, Md. until 1789, when it was formed from Washington Co., which in turn, was formed in 1776 from Frederick Co. I have found no proof of John's ancestors, but believe his father may be the grandson of Isaac Billiou. I am satisfied, however, that John is the father of Cornelius, and great grandfather of my grandfather, Roy Bilyeu. John Bilyeu
Clyde Lee Jenkins of Tuscuombis, MS About 1832 Andrew and John Bilyeu arrived in the northernmost reaches of Pulaski CO. MO; now Miller CO. Natives of Maryland, they were of French-Huguenot descent, and relatives of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania Colony. John settled in the Big Richwoods, Andrew in the Little Richwoods, and their children settled around them. Generally, they had traveled out of Maryland into Virginia, then from the Old Dominion State into the Carolinas, through Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana and the country of the Illinois before entering Missouri, some traveling one route and some another. John was born in Maryland in 1775, settled in the Big Richwoods, northeast to Iberia, in the Bray's country. He was married to Rachel, born in 1810, a native of Kentucky. No doubt she was a second wife. Their children included Isaac, William, CORNELIUS, Joseph, Mary or Polly, Delilah, Lydia, James, John, Didama, Susannah, Peter, Sarah, Andrew Jackson, and Larkin. In the war with the Creek Indians, John had fought under General Jackson serving as a private in the 1st Regiment of Bradley's Tennessee Volunteers. He rushed to arms on Oct 4, 1813 to avenge the frightful massacre of nearly 400 men, women and children at Fort Mimms in Alabama on August 30. At Talladega, ALA on November 9, the Tennessee troops engaged the Indians, killing nearly 300 warriors. After two more battles in November and one in December, in which the Indians were defeated with great slaughter, John returned home. John died at his home in the Big Richwoods near Bray's Mill on January 21, 1853 (age 78). He was a farmer and blacksmith. By will he had given his plantation, livestock, mechanical, black- smith, and farming tools to his widow, Rachel, and upon her death or marriage, to his sons Andrew Jackson and Larkin, equally. The sale of personal property was held on March 15, 1853; 400 pounds of bacon excepted to the use of the widow. . . .In the autumn of 1861, (Civil War) Rachel's place in the Big Richwoods was raided by sympathizing forces moving south; her cattle, livestock, and provisions taken, and the torch put to her buildings. Rachel then moved to Lebanon for protection. (Errors in this article include the reference to a relationship to William Penn, which is not accurate, and Rachel is mistakenly named as mother of John's children; all but Andrew and Larkin were children of John's first wife, Sarah McGrew.) Posted by: Margie von Marenholtz Date: April 16, 1998 Our Bilyeu's is more a pamphlet than a book. I believe a copy is located in the Cassville, MO Library. Regarding your Bilyeu's: The author of Our Bilyeu's writes: I believe the children of Isaac and Mary Ann to be as follows: (Question Mark(?) = no record of proof). 1. BILYEU, (male) (?Isaac), born 1800/1802. An Isaac shows up in the 1850 census, Miller Co., Mo. He does not have a wife, but has children. His (unproven) father was Isaac Bilyeu (1779/80 to 186_). He died about the end of the civil war at the home of his son Stephen in Carroll Co., Ark. His wife Mary Ann and their son Jacob Bilyeu had been buried there earlier. Isaac's wife M.A. was believed to be Mary Ann Workman, who is recorded in the Workman Family History book, page 37, who was born in Maryland, married to an Isaac Bilyeu, and had sons John and Jacob and other children, and residents of Missouri. Info on
the senior Isaac Bilyeu shows he was a resident of
Overton Co., Tenn. very early (1809). He and his brothers John Bilyeu
(1775-1853) and William Bilyeu (1795-1878) were volunteers in the War
of 1812. The brothers, along with another brother, Andrew, came to
Sangamon Co., Ill for awhile then all moved to Miller Co., MO about
1830. (Miller not being organized then and the area was in Crawford Co.
MO) Indications are that Isaac Bilyeu & family left Tenn.,
about
1824. The youngest child, Stephen, was born in KY about 1825. About
1829, they moved to Sangamon Co., Ill. They were in Carroll Co., Ark by
1838. In 1840 they were in Miller Co., Mo. They moved back to southwest
MO by, or around 1846 (later in Stone Co.). Stone Co. was organized in
1851. In 1860 (at the age of 80), Isaac was living with his son
Stephen's family in Carroll Co., Ark.

The
reported ages are not accurate, e.g. Isaac ages 15 yrs during the
10 yrs between census. Re Mary/Polly: In their
marriage
records of 2 Nov 1831, their names are listed as Isaac Bilyou
and
Polly Bilyou. "Polly" was a common nickname for Mary during
the
1800s, and I believe the Mary of one census is the same as Polly of the
next. I also suspect she was concerned about her age, and had
the
census enumerator change the original "45" by writing a "0" over the
"5". Notice that by 1860, she is younger than
Isaac, but
earlier, had been 4 years older... or could the enumerator in one or
more of the census reports have exchanged their
ages?
Note: dobs for children based on census reports. By 1880,
Isaac is a widow living with his unmarried son
Andrew.
His dob according to this census would be 1806, but Andrew's dob of
1844 remains constant in all of the census.

The oldest son William and his brother driving the stock down the old Columbia river trail, arriving a few days later. Mr. Bilyeu settled on a claim in Linn county, and the same winter removed to Polk county, where he bought the farm which he improved, and upon which he lived for many years. Obituary for James S.
Bilyeu, Cheney Newspaper, ca. 10 Sept 1921
James S. Bilyeu was born in Miller County, Missouri, Mar 2, 1853. Died at Pine City (Wa.) on September 7,1921, having experienced therefore 68 years, 6 mos. and 5 days of this earth life. He was married to Sarah M. Huddleston in 1872. After spending a few years in Arkansas they turned their faces westward and were among the pioneers who crossed the plains by team. After living in Wyoming 6 years they came to Washington in 1890. This home was blessed with ten children of which eight are now living, and also 36 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Of his children, there are 5 girls and 3 boys: Mrs. Linnie Calvert, Amber, Wash. Mrs. Maude Louthan, Orland, Calif. Mrs. Addie Moser, Camp Verde, Arizona. Miss Bessie Bilyeu, San Francisco, Calif. Mrs. Ella Gustin, Pine City, Wash. William Bilyeu, Ephrata, Wash, Roy Bilyeu, Orient, Wash. and FredBilyeu, Lamont, Washington. Bro. Bilyeu was a member of the Church of Christ over 20 years. Previous to this time he was identifiedwith the U.B. about 10 years. Brother Bilyeu loved his children and spent the last few days of his life with his wife visiting them. God the heavenly father loves the children of men and has visited them through his Son Jesus our Lord. All the children were able to be present at the grave side except Mrs. Moser of Arizona whose absence was unavoidable. How beautiful it is to love God and keep his commandments. The Heavenly and earthly parent will rejoice in that great day if all the children are gathered home without the lose of one. Help Lord to sustain thy servants strength! More About
